Frequently Asked Questions

Who is PreSign for?

PreSign is built for e-commerce merchants who ship high-value, signature-required orders and want to reduce failed deliveries, support tickets, and disputes.

Do my customers pay anything to use PreSign?

No. PreSign is a merchant tool. Your customers never pay us directly — they only see a clean, professional authorization experience when needed.

How does PreSign work?

When a merchant ships a signature-required package, PreSign automatically emails the buyer with a link to authorize delivery. The buyer authorizes release and signs a waiver, and the merchant receives a carrier-ready PDF authorization document with step-by-step instructions for updating UPS/FedEx delivery instructions.

Does PreSign replace my UPS or FedEx portal?

No. PreSign doesn't replace your carrier tools. It automates the buyer authorization process and generates carrier-ready documentation and instructions your team can use in UPS or FedEx.

Can PreSign change carrier signature requirements automatically?

Not directly. Carriers don't allow third-party apps to modify signature rules via API. PreSign focuses on capturing buyer consent and giving your team everything they need to request exceptions or process delivery instructions efficiently.

How does billing work?

You pay a simple monthly subscription for unlimited use of PreSign. There are no per-authorization fees in the MVP.

How do I install PreSign on my Shopify store?

Visit our Shopify App Store listing and click "Install app". You'll be redirected to complete the OAuth installation process. Once installed, PreSign will automatically sync with your Shopify orders and fulfillments.

Can buyers authorize delivery after the package is out for delivery?

No. Once a package is marked as "Out for Delivery" by the carrier, the authorization option is locked. This ensures buyers have time to authorize before the delivery attempt.

How does PreSign help reduce chargebacks and disputes?

PreSign generates legally-composed PDF waivers that document buyer consent and clearly state that buyers accept responsibility for packages once delivered. This documentation helps merchants prove authorization in chargeback disputes and reduces liability by shifting responsibility to the buyer who authorized delivery.

Is buyer information secure?

Yes. PreSign uses industry-standard security practices to protect buyer information. All authorization data is encrypted and stored securely, and we comply with data protection regulations including GDPR and CCPA.
